Government College University Faisalabad, under the Department of Mass Communication, organized a ceremony in honor of Salman Ghani, Executive Editor of Dunya TV and recipient of the Sitara-e-Imtiaz by the Government of Pakistan. The event celebrated his decades-long dedication to responsible journalism and democratic values in Pakistan.

The ceremony was presided over by Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rauf_i_Azam, and attended by veteran journalists Salman Ghani, Sajjad Mir, Salman Abid, Zafar Dogar, Chairperson of the Department of Mass Communication Dr. Salma Amber, faculty members, department heads, and a large number of students.

In his keynote address, Dr. Rauf_i_Azam described Salman Ghani as a symbol of responsible and constructive journalism in Pakistan. He further said that Ghani upheld journalistic ethics throughout his career and played a vital role in strengthening balanced and independent media in the country.

In his speech, Salman Ghani called the youth of Pakistan’s last hope. He emphasizing that the country is rich in natural resources, but only a strong economy backed by quality education and investment in youth can place Pakistan among developed nations.
He stressed that Politicians rise to power through the support of youth, yet no solid and lasting strategy is ever laid out for their welfare.

Sajjad Mir praised Ghani’s integrity,He never used journalism for power or wealth, but as a platform to serve the country and build character.

Salman Abid acknowledged Ghani’s unshakable commitment to truth, applauding his rejection of lucrative political positions in favor of principled journalism.

Zafar Dogar and Dr. Salma Amber highlighted Ghani’s sharp political insight and fearless commentary, noting his pivotal role in promoting investigative journalism and preserving media ethics on both national and international platforms.
